Bloodstone is also known as Heliotrope, and is an incredibly hard stone. A dark green with a slightly blue tint to it, with red specks and patches is the most common colouring for this stones; but it does sometimes come in a wide range of colours (or has a range of colours in it) from white to yellow, just checkout the images below of some of the pieces I have had. This material polishes up to a wonderful shiny mirror finish. Suitable for a wide range of pieces.
