Chiapas Amber is considered one of the best ambers in the world and it is easily to see why, the range of colours and depth to each piece that makes every piece unique. Amber is suitable for a wide range of jewellery pieces and can be polished to a high mirror finish. Amber is tree sap that over millions of years has hardness (some say fossilized) to form a hard polymer like material that is suitable for carving. Amber that I use comes direct from the mine in Chiapas, Mexico and is estimated to be between 50-150 million years old.
